The Corteccia Oak top is one of Azzurra’s most popular bathroom furniture solutions.
The beauty and naturalness of wood are combined here with the functionality and durability of a veneered top for a high-quality product made from wood-based panels covered with a sheet of fine wood, brushed, stained and varnished.
The irregular front edge is made of solid oak, adding an extra touch that gives the top an original and unique look.
If you have chosen this type of top for your bathroom, you are in the right place to find useful tips on how to properly clean and maintain this type of surface. But first, let’s take a look at its characteristics and the available variants.
A distinctive design
The Corteccia Oak top is available in nine colours in the Azzurra catalogue: Natural, White, Sand, Ash, Oat, Smoke, Charcoal, Mocha and Black. Thanks to the two different shades, it easily adapts to different styles and environments and can be combined with various types of washbasins.
This type of top is made from a living material, but thanks to the way it is treated, it is resistant to water and humidity. To preserve its beauty and durability, simply follow a few simple cleaning and maintenance precautions. Let’s take a look at them together.
Cleaning and maintenance tips for the Corteccia Oak top
To take the best care of this type of top, we recommend following the cleaning and maintenance tips in the user manual.
- Immediately wipe up any liquid spilled on the surface to prevent stains, discolouration, limescale deposits and alterations due to absorption. Some products used in the bathroom, such as soaps, nail polish, perfumes, hair dyes, etc., can damage the surface of the wood.
- Try not to let water stand on the surface, and take immediate action in case of leaks, calling the retailer to avoid damage to the furniture underneath. Wood is particularly sensitive to water and steam, which can cause swelling, cracks, deformation and mould.
- Avoid exposing the surface to excessive heat sources, such as hair dryers, hair straighteners, irons, etc., which can overheat the wood surface and cause breakage, discolouration or fire. When using these items, place them on an insulating surface and not directly on the worktop.
- Remember that dragging objects across the surface may scratch it. Always use a trivet or coaster to place hot or cold objects on the surface. Never use metal scourers, abrasive substances or powdered detergents, which may scratch the wood.
- For normal maintenance, use a soft cloth or microfibre cloth or a soft bristle brush, following the direction of the wood grain. For more intensive cleaning, use a specific product for cleaning wood that does not scratch and is suitable for the type of finish. Rinse with a well-wrung cloth and dry all surfaces thoroughly to avoid streaks or dullness. Never use undiluted alcohol, acetic acid, chlorine, ammonia, acetone, trichloroethylene or other aggressive solvents, which may stain or discolour the wood.
By following these simple tips, you can keep your Azzurra Corteccia Oak top looking as good as new.
