1. Vinegar

Just pour a little into a bowl and apply it with a soft sponge to surfaces such as taps, sinks and showers. Leave the vinegar to work for a few minutes to dissolve the limescale, then rinse with warm water. For stubborn taps, unscrew the filters and soak them in a solution of water and vinegar overnight. 2. Baking soda
Another powerful ingredient against limescale is baking soda. If you want to make your sink shine, scrub it with half a lemon and baking soda. This combination not only removes limescale but also leaves a pleasant, fresh scent. You can also mix baking soda and white vinegar, which is ideal for cleaning shower stalls: apply the mixture to the surfaces with a sponge, leave it to work for a few minutes and rinse thoroughly.
3. Citric acid
If you have more delicate surfaces, such as marble or wood, citric acid is the best choice. Dissolve it in water and apply it with a sponge to the areas affected by limescale. Leave it to work for a few minutes, then rinse. This remedy is particularly gentle on more sensitive surfaces and is just as effective.
The super combination: bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and lemon
If you have particularly stubborn limescale, the combination of bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and lemon is your trump card. Mix three parts baking soda with one part warm vinegar and add the juice of one lemon. This powerful mixture will not only dissolve limescale, but will also have a sanitising effect, eliminating bacteria and germs. You can use this combination on more resistant surfaces, but be sure to rinse well after application.
